Ruger 77/22 with black Zytel stock

#1 Post by Stephen »

Hi all,

does anyone have experience of the black Zytel stock fitted to Ruger rifles ? Also known as the boat paddle stock. Over time, the Zytel thermo plastic turns grey. Any tips on how to restore ? I've read threads from the US suggesting products from car vinyl cleaner, to CLP, Vaseline and sand paper....

A car interior restoration product would have been my first suggestion. You can get ones specifically designed to restore interior plastics. I assume it would work on a synthetic stock too.
