FAC renewal letter
Just had my renewal letter through from Linconshire for February next year, now that's all well and good however the last paragraph of the letter got my attention as it stated
" Lincolnshire Police will no longer request or pay the costs for medical reports. We are now seeking applicants to obtain medical reports only as described to determine your fitness to hold a licence. Therefore , any cost incurred must be agreed and settled between you and your general practitioner."
This at present doesn't affect me, I believe, but was wondering if this is a Lincolnshire thing or if it's the norm and nationwide

Current status is on the BASC web site, all parties Home Office, BMA, BASC agreed there would be no fee unless there was something in your medical records needed further investigation...the police contact your Doc, you do not pay a fee for this simple notification.
https://basc.org.uk/blog/press-releases ... y-gp-fees/
If a further medical report is required the applicant will pay any fees, in 99% of cases all the GP has to do is tick 4 boxes and have a marker placed on your records showing you hold firearms, this part was agreed to be done without charge.
Unfortunately the BMA (basically a trade union) have spat their dummies out and decided that despite being an active part of months of negotiation and an agreement being made they've now changed their mind and decided it's an easy way to make money out of us and are refusing to play ball.

If you refuse to pay the fee the Police will simply wait 21 days and then assume everything is okay and continue to process your application.

Yep read through the notes now that ive printed of the forms
The payment part is for if your declaring one of the issues, that's if your doctor charges, not for the general contact with the doctors which was what I thought they were implying, that'll teach me to speed read

Police Scotland seem to have their own very unique way of administering firearms legislation. I've even heard of them stating Home Office Guidance has no influence in Scotland and even tried enacting/enforcing "laws" they believed would become actual legislation at a later date!!!
No don't doubt the "cascade down" attitude of the all powerful administration that the SNP believe they are....
It's quickly turning into a third world, tin pot dictatorship up there!
Very sad.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
