Your ideas needed

#1 Post by Thorney »

Hello all. Been a while since I updated everyone here on the new range. As you can see we have progressed a lot and hope to be open early in the new year.

Image

we are pretty well prepared on targets - two running boar, 25 turning and 20 reactive as well as some others but would like to make sure we get it right in terms of shooting stands - position, type etc.

Does anyone have any links or site I can look at, or ideas as to what we should create? Any input greatefully received.

Did you have any problems with the planning application, being so close to a road?

I saw a picture of a UK range with covered firing points that looked superb only recently, have a look to Diggle maybe for the 100 yard as an example?

Range development work looks superb so far :good:

Will you have any restrictions on shooting positions on any of the ranges (prone, standing, sitting etc.)?
What calibres will each range be cleared for?
What reactive targets have you got?
What provisions do you have for installing barricades or posts at various distances?
Can you shoot at any distance from the target on each range independently of the others?

Not sure I'm going to be able to offer any great insights other than to say that's going to be excellent when finished! Just make sure there's tea and coffee available :good:

Is this the new range being built near Silverstone?

No, the side bunds are 4m high, backstop 5m high and a further excluded danger area for 400m beyond.

Ta, will take a look.

Both the targets and the shooting points will be covered so all weather shooting sorted.
