The Boomerang's back....

#1 Post by Sim G »

I don't know if anyone remembers, but a while ago I bought a Mini 14 from a friend. Played with it, added to it, took away from it, got it to shoot sub 1.5" groups, then sold it to a friend. I've just bought it back...... I did the thing I wanted to do when I originally owned it, I've chopped the barrel, again. Another friend has said if it comes up for sale again, he wants it.... So here's the "Boomerang"....!!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I know...... pleased with the choice, but gutted the CQT wasn't suitable! Had it out on Saturday and got it zero'd. I dare say, the further shortening has obviously made the barrel even stiffer and so may actually shoot better than it did when last in my possession....

However, that might just be starry eyed optimism....!!

What distance were you shooting it out to?

What are you going to do with the CQT? Will it go on the 'other' project? :D

Just out to 100 to get it on the paper. Got a 300 venture in a couple of weeks to play with some ammo..... got a plan to try.....

The CQ/T, it my have to go. Actually, no there's no have about it, it's going.... A shame, especially as they are a bit "rocking horse poo" outside of the US. But, going to need glass for the "Holy Grail" should it come off, as the Mk4 is on the Mini 14.

Can you clamp any more crap on that? How about a pair of fluffy-dice-bollox, then spray it Hello-Kitty pink??

It's even got too many bolt-on extras for Blackstuff to count without taking off his socks

You should have bought one of them Browning Tac A-bolt rifles: I hear they're real tack drivers in the right hands :)

I really like the mini 14, I remeber finding your threads a while back on this, I have an AUG now so that kind of cures the itch a little but Isomehow still keep looking at them.
