Thankfully no one seems to be seriously hurt.

When did airguns become firearms?

Six school pupils have been injured after a shooting in East Ayrshire.
It is believed an air gun was used in the attack on students from Auchinleck Academy which happened at around 1.40pm.

Those injured are reported to have suffered only minor injuries.

Strathclyde Police said officers were in attendance at the secondary school to deal with an "ongoing incident."

The local authority said: "The school responded immediately, informing the police and parents of the children involved, and sought appropriate medical attention.

"The council is working closely with the school to ensure that the school, the
children and their families are appropriately supported."
