I saw one in 7.62x39mm which could have worth closer investigation.

Since I have decided to obtain my FAC I have found out that beyond my long term interest in lever actions I also seem to have a liking for single shot smoking poles shooting big cartridges or just big bullets. What that says about me I don't know....... :squirrel:

That is a nice looking rifle there Sandgroper. What wood is the stock as the grain looks lovely.

Sandgroper,
I suppose you'll be going along to Cawdor on Sunday for the last session of the year?

I'm still in sunny Africa so won't make it.

I don't really know  I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's American walnut but I'm not sure if it was referring to the Harrington & Richardson rifles or the NEF ones (same company, different brand.)

You're the Secretary - you'd think you'd have the shoots sorted around your days off!

As for Sunday, it depends if the gallery rifle comp is being run or not. Haven't heard anything from Gordon yet. If it's not on, my son is off school Monday/Tuesday (in service days  ) so I might head up to Milnain on Tuesday with him, which'll be fun if we go.

Until I came here I thought our laws would help curb excess but having seen what some of you gentle folks get up to apparently they don't! I am sure some of you are beyond extra cabinets and instead are adding house extensions. And I am even more sure some of you not only keep the local firearms officer's favourite biscuits in the cupboard, but probably have a tea mug for his exclusive use, and are probably on each other's Christmas card list.

No I have modest ambitions. Though I have basic idea where I want to go and do until I have done it for 6 months I won't know for sure. To be honest the legal aspects and catholic tastes (I find everything interest) are the reasons why I always talked myself out of actually getting involved in shooting. We shall see.
