2.3 “Firearm” means a lethal barrelled
weapon of any description from which
any shot, bullet or other missile can be
discharged, and includes any prohibited
weapon, whether it is such a lethal weapon
or not, any component part"
As a consequence air gun crimes are recorded as Firearms crimes and give a false impression to the casual viewer.
It should be a priority of every law abiding shooter to make sure that airguns are kept out of the hands of those who have no interest in the future of the sport,

That will be the end of airguns in Scotland. Already a contentious issue up here!

Licence them. It may not solve today's problems but I am certain it will save lives in the future.

Licensing didn't prevent Dunblane, Hungerford nor Cumbria.

Yes they are,,,dependant on the Poundage over 12lb psi I think is the limit?? but I'll stand corrected..

Barney...according to FA all airguns are firearms...some are s1 depending on muzzle energy.

True, but I cannot accept what you are implying, we can only quote the ones that did happen, not the ones that did not because firearms are licensed.

How can anyone quantify the shootings that
didn't happen?
And what is the difference between being shot by a licensed and an unlicensed gun...oh, I know, the licenced gun shooting gets all the media coverage....but in each instance the effect is the same.
