Another Problem!
Using a Victor Meldrew Voice - "I don't believe it!"
Took Jared shooting tonight and after putting 60 rounds of 44mag down range had a non-fire, waited 30secs and ejected the cartridge, no strike on the primer. Loaded another round and same thing.
The replacement firing pin I got in March has broken, same place as the original, the tip/pin that strikes the primer has broken off. It's lasted about 5 months (same as the first one) and has only shot about 300 rounds.
I've emailed Viking and asked them to collect the rifle and have it checked, there's no way a firing pin should only be lasting a few months.

BUT
IF they were BOTH made at the same time - they may both have had the same heat treatment = which in the case of the first one was not too good, so the replacement would do the same, break

Re: Another Problem!
Indeed I'd thought of that but can't see anything online about a bad batch of pins or in fact much about Henry problems at all!, one broken pin in a 22rf but that's about it.
I've posted for info on the Henry Users group which is fairly lacking in posts as it seems everyone is happy with their Henrys

I have no idea how the mechanism is made, but first thing I would check is if the FP moves absolutely freely and well in centre of the FP hole.phaedra1106 wrote:Using a Victor Meldrew Voice - "I don't believe it!"
