The XD is a fine handgun. The only bit I didn't like about it was I was caught out a few times with NSP's or proving the weapon. The slide can't be retracted unless the grip safety is depressed. And due to the position and size of it, you need a full and proper firing grip to engage it. I've got 12 year old girl's hands as well and twist the grip to clear the gun and she won't have it.......

Oh, and the finish took an absolute battering in a tropical climate! Springfield ended up refinishing all of the slides for free. Not as corrosion resitant as they thought!

S&W M&P is another of the genre that is getting great reviews and results. Supposedly taking contracts from Glock to fill service holsters Stateside....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Morning Sim,

good input.

Anything with a grip safety will not be on my shopping, I hate these things.

Keep it simple, which is where Glock gets it...pullit, point it, shoot it..simple. A Beretta 92 could also be an option, I shoot those well too.

All depends what comes on the market, Obummer has been great for gun sales in the US...M16 prices shot up (no pun) when he got in.
