Bolt action .44 / .45

I'm trying to find something a bit different from the usual Marlins and Rossi to shoot at my local club. I'd like a bolt action and I've tried the new Ruger .357, looked okay but felt terrible to handle. I've also seen the Armalon PC rifles and not keen on those either.

Anyone aware of other bolt action PC rifles?

My club has the Ruger 77/44 (same as 357?) which seemed OK to me, I have 2 .44 underlevers, a Marlin 1894 and a Henry BigBoy, if you can have a look at the Henry, it may change your mind about bolt action smile2

I have a Destroyer Carbine (9mm Largo) - issue rifle for the Spanish Police and Prison Service.

Later this year I'll be converting my butchered Ishapore 2A1 to 45 ACP (I plan to have it proofed to at least 45 ACP +P, but hopefully 45 Super levels)

Are you sure greenrifle are still going ? I've emailed them several times, and tried leaving voicemails, but have had no responses over a period of almost a year. I hope they are: I once saw one of their rifles and it was superb, hence my interest in acquiring a .45 ACP Enfield.

Yeah, the Ruger's the same bar the calibre. I just didn't like the feel, way too light, too small and rough. I had been set on the SGC 9mm until you spoilt my dream with your reports which is now why I'm looking for something a bit different.

Well if it's any consolation I took it for it's first outdoor adventure today, loaded up 30 hotter than normal rounds using 4.5gr of TiteGroup and shot them at 100m with a really poor scope that wouldn't focus at 100m

I only had 1 jam which as usual was the first out of a magazine, got 27 on target all about 12" low right of where I was aiming in about a 9" group, which, considering I wasn't resting it on anything and the last 15 were fired from a sitting cross legged position, I thought was pretty good

If you're looking for something that isn't light and rough I'd def. take a look at the Henry BigBoy, it's a superbly built bit of kit and the weight soaks up the recoil nicely

Still going, otherwise someone totally random answered my e-mails, cashed my cheque and sent me the magazine adapter kit I was looking for! :lol:

Have you seen any of the 'Delisle Carbines' that Gordon has done? Or the .357 conversion he did for Chris? I still think he's willing to do some more conversions as time permits but their main business keeps them very busy.

I'm also hoping to do a silenced Mauser .45 build in the next year or so, time permitting; I'm part way there, got the doner rifle/action in bits.
