These are brand new Starline brass, loaded using Lee carbide full length size and factory crimp die.

Based off measuring Ogive @ 12 thou off the lands the copper plated came out at 1.125" (28.58mm) and the cast lead at 1.113 (28.26m) so that's either .92 or 1.22mm shorter.

Only other thing that seems "not quite right" is the massive amount of force the bolt is hitting the cases with to chamber them, I've never shot any 9mm rifle (Beretta, Spikes etc.) or pistol (Glock, Beretta, Sig etc.) that has that much weight/force being thrown at the cartridge when loading it.

Have you tried chambering a round slowly (if possible) to try and get a feel for what is happening?

I have to embarrassingly admit that I have still to take my 9mm to the range One thing or another I just have not wanted to be on a cold range after freezing my butt off during my working week.

I read this thread with some concern and am prompted to try and get on the range sooner than later. I have had a similar experience with a number of 9mm dummy ammunition I bought just to be able to dry fire it and practise drills. The bolt also fails to feed these rounds with similar results to those shown in the picture.

Will try and get on range and test the factory ammunition I have,

Ok, you may not want to here this but, i have one of the early models, I got it just after the S5 controversy.

I ran it in using 2/300 rounds of S&B factory ammo, ot never missed a beat.
I went over to 125grn homeloads with 135 grn harcast bullets, although it functioned perfectly I couldnt get them to group worth a sh&t so they went into the bin.
I now use 124 grn FMJ bullets with 5grn of Universal. The gun cycles them flawlessly and groups at around 3/4" at 25yds.

Oh yeh,,its the uzi mag version, I have 3 X Bobs reworked Uzi mags and 2x cheapo copies theres no noticable difference.

Hi guys some points to check

1. CRIMP
In any factory auto round there is more crimp than you realise
The photo shows a case with little how no crimp you ned a visible "in"
When the slide operates some of the force is been absorbed into pressing the head deeper
Besides shortening the round it can also shorten the angle and press head into top of chamber at the angle you have

2. Lead needs less crimp since it has more friction than copper. This could explain the lead working sporadically

3.mag lips can also cause the round to angle wrong but in this case then factory round would also not work

Simple next step .....
1. Max length the round
2. Crimp that mother visibly
