Everytime I see that one of you blokes have got yourselves a Steyr :good: , I get really tempted to get one for myself :-P - even if I know it's not going to be be same as the one I used in the RAAF.

At least I have the mags for it - until Blackstuff takes them off my hands!

That is a nice rifle, sucks the powers that be removed our ability to own it in S/A. Sucks even more being FACless, woe is me....

What's the eye relief like with that scope?

its a 20x42 so eye relief is pretty demanding insomuch as you have to be just "there" not forward or back, other than that its comfortable to use, if the rifle gets a walk after CWD or Muntjac then I will need to put a more forgiving sporting style scope on it.

I have 3x30 and 1x10 rnd mags, and for a straight pull I suspect that is enough to be going on with :D (£26-50 all loaded depending on ammo)

I was over in Dublin on a stag do a couple of years ago and while everyone was getting ready i sloped off into town on a mission to buy some mags from an Army and Navy store. Asked the bloke about them and he reacted like i'd asked him for a ricin/C4/uranium cocktail

When i first got the gun i almost filled my pants when i say Sportsmans wanted £60 for one, and when i was speaking to a guy at the Steyr factory (chasing up my rifle - 6 month debarcle **** ) i asked him about magazines and he claimed that price was about right  Anyway, i ended up ordering some from the US and i got 3x30rd, 3x9rd and a 42rd one for less than 2 from Sportsmans :55:

Don't worry Sandgroper, i've not forgot about yours . . . :good:
