Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Probably a good idea as well, as an RCO I am always uneasy about 'downloaded' rounds as I only have the shooters word on it. Same goes for HME calibres that are 'downloaded' so do not need to be zeroed, in my opinion anyone that tells me a round is downloaded needs to prove it and I cannot give them the benefit of the doubt.

Salut,
In France rough shooting or when they are beated toward a line of fire I used side by side 16 or 12 ga with brenneke slugs and in Poland sitting in a post I used a MN 7.62x54R loaned by the locals.

Sorry Dromia but it's specifically not allowed under the gallery rifle rules, never mind the rules or limits relating to a specific range otherwise I would be using my 9.3x74r double to shoot timed and precision comps.

Well we shoot all sorts on our gallery ranges, guess it depends on the range certificate.

Not just the range certificate but also the gallery rifle rules if you shoot in competition and only pistol calibre cartridges are allowed.
