Just thought you guys would be interested to see something I've been working on this week.
This is a single shot adapter for the CZ 527 .223 made in solid polymer.
With the faster twists now available in .223, longer bullets are now in common use. This often necessitates single loading.
This adapter is designed to give a controlled feed, allowing the extractor to slide in behind the cartridge rim for a much smoother feed.

The quality of the finish is spot on. A lovely bluey-grey colour, with clear markings giving the rifle model number and Allan’s trade mark on the other side. There were no sharp edges or bits of slag that would ordinarily of required trimming with a sharp knife. The thing feels solid.
It slid into the mag well easy and when locked in place, did so with no discernible movement. Whether the mag catch will wear the notch over time is anyones guess, but initially it’s not of concern. To start off with I didn’t really notice, but the adapter is about 80% the length of a 5 round box magazine. Obviously this causes no issues and there’s plenty of material to grab hold of when removing it from the rifle.
When in place, the top of the adapter is a little more proud than the box magazine. But, that means there is no feed angle when a round is chambered. Lined up well enough that the round went straight into the chamber mouth, with the bolt riding above the adapter by a fags paper width.
I’ve only tried it in the conservatory so far, loading and ejecting cartridges that are the SAAMI max of 2.260. I have every confidence that longer cartridges will cause no issues, which is the reason I got it!
Thanks Allan, a cracking piece of kit!!!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I too have been trying the .22 version in my 452 and agree it's first class if ever so slightly tight in the magazine well.
I don't see that as a fault, if anything I see that as a positive feature as it won't fall out and just requires a push from the top to remove.
