DK is a special place to shoot, accomodation is around GBP12/Night on the range with very good facilities. Eveything from 25m to 600m ranges with moving targets and knock downs out to 600m plus running dear and boar with many many medium distance ranges out in the forests, we went for a drive though the grounds the other night and found maybe half a dozen 25-250m rifle and pistol ranges I have never seen before.

Oh and they speak English as well :goodjob:

We are away from the range for two days now doing the bisiting relatives thing but will be back Monday for another 5 days of interesting things.

EDIT A group of German hunters come up to the range this time of year, I think this is the 26th year in fact, they shot all sorts of disciplines both static and moving and eat and drink in the evenings, Sunday is good for us as they will have loads of food left over and trust me when I say they are not vegetarians 8-)

Well the latest update is we are back at the range after a weekend off. I have a huge lump on my left arm where a Mossie had me and a wasp sting on my right wrist (Ouch) At least we have the place to ourselves again. I have put some feelers out for reloading parts for the newly acquired SoDR and latest news is things could be very interesting towards the end of the week.

Obviously not smoking enough to keep the beasties at bay..... ;)
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Just spent two days with my family, trust me two days are enough O:-)

Ever so good to see them though, especially my brother's daughter, had not seen her before.

Glad to be back at the range, we drove out to the plantation this evening and spotted a few deer.
Sorry no pictures.

Tomorrow forecast is light rain.

Mosquitoes can be a real pain - Usually they prefer the ladies - You need to stay close to Christel, especially at dusk...and if you can, get her into shorts and sandles. This will help with your mosquito problem....

Seriously, Ovenpaa is always the one who gets attacked by whatever is in the air, not me as such, shorts or no shorts.
Deet of course is a must and we did bring that, what we forgot to bring which is also a must was the Waspeze...
Ah well, he is not so swollen today, only bruised looking.
