Gunsmithing question...easy fix: re-locate front sight base?

A tip for you, as solder will not stick to blued surfaces you can prepare the surface and if you go past the area that will be soldered, pencil around it and then use a cotton bud to apply cold blue to prevent the solder form sticking to everything.
