I went with every intention of buying a used pump action 12 or 20 bore shotgun and .357 lever action rifle. I struck out on the .357, and the asking price for the used shotguns was ridiculous. Needless to say, I came home without either.
Roll on May and the Northern. I bought a lovely CZ453 Premium there last year, so I'm hoping my luck holds out for this year.
Love it every year, chance to chat to people about guns all day, pickup some odd objects, ammo can be cheap, guns less so. First year I've not gone in ages, partner is poorly sick :(
Yes, we agree, it's not what it used to be. Even the airsoft area was pretty spartan this year. Lots os stalls selling shotguns but not the wide choice and bargains there used to be - many dealers seemed either absent or using the show to offload less appealing stock. Maybe the Great Northern Shooting Show has eclipsed it.

"Quelle style, so British"
Went to all the shows when it was at Newark ...........great shows .
Went to the Coventry shows until last year , its getting more like an indoor Game Fair . So I dont go any more .
Loved the Northern Show last year , good layout , good selection of traders and very good food at decent prices . Will visit again this year .
The British Shooting Show organisers are milking it for every cent , so you cant expect to see many bargains there considering it can cost over £1000.00 for a trader to be at the show . The same people are running the War & Peace show and thats gone downhill as well .
I got a bargain, 6,000 Murom small rifle primers from HPS-TR @ £19/1000. Luckily a fellow club member in on one of the stands down there so picked them up for me
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
I don't go to these types of "shows" which are generally nothing more than very upmarket car boot sales and around £20 entry for the privilege of going shopping. Somebody is on a nice little earner, charging the both the stallholders and punters, compare that to the big retail shopping malls where there's free access and free parking.
In the distant past I've been to arms fairs at Bisley and entry was free.
Just got home. For all the comments about airsoft. I dogs not see a single airsoft retailer there. Only air rifles. Well i got done more 9mm from itl and collected my pistol from an rfd. Gf wanted some cushions and cheese. Would not believe the amount of ppl wanting to talk about the dog
When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns
