He was at Southampton university.....I wonder if he jumped or was pushed....

Some points are quite arguable but unfortunately are spun his way....complete failure to note the police's culpability in Hungerford Dunblane and Cumbria...ié 3 nutters who should never have had guns...
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!

The bloke is a fantasist of the highest order. I can only imagine he's using psychological transference to come up with some of the fantastical scenarios that he's so fond of 'documenting'. He's certainly someone I'd never what to be anywhere near if he had his hands on a gun!

Skimming through that article he hasn't even got the name of the perpetrator of the Cumbria shootings correct 8-)

Sadly, as he's one of the few people willing to waste their life documenting the miniscule amount of UK gun crime using legally owned guns (not his definition of 'legally owned' of course as that includes any gun that wasn't manufactured from scratch by the criminal who owns it 5mith ), then he can get audience with the HO and other people who can influence firearms licensing. wallhead

He's also tried being a bully! I've heard a story that he began a campaign of "on-line" stalking of someone who did challenge him with the truth. He caused that person some concern.

However, I have very little in the way of a "digital fingerprint" so engage myself with now and again giving him what he justly deserves. And that is "outing" as a liar, charlatan and a fraud.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

"We argued that such displays of ‘casual cruelty’, killing for fun, spoke volumes about a shooting mindset that was neither responsible, nor safe, nor willing to be held to account."

I'm in total agreement with that.................surely, the point is to persuade the non-shooting public that shooting is a desirable sport/pastime/hobby/livelihood or whatever.
Pictures of grinning idiots with guns surrounded by bloody dead stuff on magazine covers is not going to help.

As for the rest of the article, make of it what you will. Largely tripe, but some good points about the failure of firearms depts. and police to properly assess the mental state/attitude of the likes of Hamilton et.al. and to act on advice about individuals offered by shooting clubs.
AFAIK, all the shootings with legally held firearms have been associated with a mental breakdown of some kind affecting the shooter.

I can't remember seeing a case where a sane club shooter used his firearm to rob a bank...................

I can't actually remember the last time I saw a shooting magazine with such a picture on the cover, although I must admit I don't go out of my way to look at 'sporting' shooting magazines these days, and not that I particularly have a problem with such pictures, especially if its a pest species that has been shot.

Idiots...we are not idiots...we may enjoy our sport so we have a smile on our face however we are not idiots.
The public has been brainwashed to the degree that meat comes from Tesco, preferably vacuum packed.
Not many know the procedure from farm to abattoir. If they did they would see country side shooting in a different light.

To be the Devil's Advocate:
Middle aged men with 'black rifles', or 'sniper rifles', who seem to be living out some sort of 'tactical fantasy', certainly don't help the public's perception of shooting sports...
Joining the Army, or the TA, might be a better option for these people.
As to killing animals, it should really only be done for pest control, food, or management. Shooting animals 'for sport', and chucking them away, is simply immoral.
