Chroney F1 use enhancement

#1 Post by ukrifleman »

If like me, you have a Chroney F1 chronograph without a printer you might find this useful.

As you will be aware, there is a socket on the left side of the chroney to plug in a printer.

I made up a 5m remote lead with a push button on one end and a jack plug on the other and instead of just reading individual velocities, I can now access the high and low velocity of a string of shots, as well as average muzzle velocity, extreme spread and standard deviation at the push of a button.

You can also delete individual shots or complete strings without leaving the bench.

The lead cost me change out of £12 to make up and the only extra thing a ballistic printer at £100 plus can do, is print the results onto paper.

If you decide to make up a remote lead, solder the 2 wires in the jack plug to the screen and the middle contact, don't use the bottom contact.
