No4 Mk1 feed issues

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

All this talk of SoR's in another thread reminds me.. I have a feed issue with my 4(T) It fails to pick up and feed new rounds with any constancy, the tangs at the top look right but I have no other magazines for No4 Mk1's to compare it to, does anyone have any pointers please?

How strong is the follower spring?

Does it catch on the magazine body at all during its travel, dented, twisted body?

Magazine body is fine however it needs a very good push to engage in the catch which would suggest it is far from the original issued. The spring could be the culprit as when a round is picked up the following round will fail to rise and needs pushing down in order to pop up. It is an annoyance I only remember when I am shooting and then get side tracked when I get home so it has never been resolved.

PM your address and I'll send you down a replacement spring and follower, I've got some unissued ones in grease.

If it works keep it if not send it back.
