Would the modification stop it from being used in an anschutz again?
Re: 1983 Grunig Elmiger as basis for f class/target rifle
Yes, it would stop it to be used in Anschutz.dirge wrote:Would the modification stop it from being used in an anschutz again?

Well I'm going to pull the trigger not the grunig, I'm sure I'll have several thousand more questions shortly.

Hi rox, could I bother you to describe the bolt disasemble process of the round action g&e bolt?
Thanks
Thanks

I don't know the part number, but I can show you a photo.
- Top is the round action 2-lug with Anschutz trigger.
- Middle us an early (80s) ST200 action with Grünig trigger (plate frame).
- Bottom is a late (2000's) ST200 action with Grünig trigger (machined frame).

Righty, looking at sourcing or building a new stock for the grunig, I know the originally it was in a reinforced modified anschutz stock, does any one have any inletting information or know what other stock it might fit into with minimum modifications

This will fit in many anschutz wooden stocks for the 54 or if you have the later Grunigs the stocks from the the square section 20 series Anschutz actions but you will have to mill out wood & bed it in steel loaded epoxy compound. The thumb hole Supermatch stock is good & strong (I have a Swing bedded into one).dirge wrote:Righty, looking at sourcing or building a new stock for the grunig, I know the originally it was in a reinforced modified anschutz stock, does any one have any inletting information or know what other stock it might fit into with minimum modifications
There are many fullbore stocks too that may be adapted for it - Colin Moon Swing, HPS, Dolphin & Gemini. HPS do adaptor plates for stocks to wood possibly they have a grunig one or can make one. Also ask Crispin engineering.
I think the reinforcement was the pistol grip of the match 54 pistol grip stocks (highly cut away / raising cheek) there is a bolt thru it to reinforce it - you can do the same with the Supermatch to reinforce this (bed in a bolt) but contrary to anecdotal reports i have not seen a Supermatch stock fail with a fullbore in it yet & mine has lasted 6 years regular use.

Thanks for the info, living in New Zealand 54 stocks are very rare, and import restrictions make trying to get anything shipped in quite entertaining.
Is it usual to do a full epoxy bed? Including the large recoil/bolt trapezoidal barrel adaptor thing?
Currently it is soft bedded ( using some kind of rubber compound) which I haven't seen before.
