So it might still be the most accurate rifle in the world - in the rain

SRS for me, I'd love to have a go! Though the HTI would top my list :D

I went to see Mick last year, but decided to postpone my long range ambitions at the time. His rifles are lovely, but I was ideally looking for something that looks a bit more tactical. I don't want to compromise on accuracy, but I want something a little different beyond traditional looking rifles.

I already had their website open...

I do like the AX stock though... Just the job! :good:

Might be worth a look on their website.

What are you going to use the rifle for or will it be a cabinet queen? None of the off the shelve rifles marketed for the Mil or LE will beat a well made custom rifle from the reputable gunsmiths already mentioned in this thread for accuracy. If you don’t need a rifle that can be dropped from a Hercules and still maintain its MOA zero get a custom made bolt action that will shoot sub MOA all day long, until you drop it out of a Hercules that is; you'll get a tactical looking tack driver for a lot less money than a 'System' rifle.

Most custom builders will offer a rifle in a tactical/ AI stock I think there is a section on the dolphin site with tactical builds got to say the modular system sprayed black would look very tacticool.
I have a Custom rifle with a 700 action it shoots sub moa all day long. I did buy it second hand and put itin a GRS stock but all in it owes me glass included £1700.00 if id put it in an AI stock probably would have been abut £250 more just to give you an idea

Thanks for your opinion, it's appreciated. Does anyone not agree with this?

Thanks. Yes Mik quoted me on a rifle with an AI AX chassis, it did look very nice I have to admit!

£2K sounds like it represents good value for money, but what about if you want < .5 MOA or even .25 MOA what are the options?

When I was looking last year I had my heart set on a tikka t3 super varmint in stainless and in 260 Remington.
None in stock at importers and couldn't get a date other than 6 to 9 months. Its a special order.
I could have driven to the factory and got one!
I see they now have the Tikka CTR and its available in 260 with 10 round mag. Could be a winner!
I looked at a Savage in 260 but again special order from US 6 to 9 months.
I looked at custom rifle build either 700 or T3 and to get what I wanted was going to be £3k to £3.5k.
I went for an AE in 260 (its picture is on here) and its marvellous.
Don't let anyone tell you because its a military/police rifle it wont be accurate!
The barrel is made by Border as it may well be if you go custom.
AND---If you come to sell it an AI will be worth more than most custom builds.

All opinions are important IMO and I have to agree with "AND---If you come to sell it an AI will be worth more than most custom builds." As a minimum they seem to sell quite quickly, although they don't seem to come up very often, especially the AX range.

I think all John MH was suggesting was you pay a premium for a rugged build quality, which makes sense. R&D has it's carry costs...

Thanks!

Craig.
