How did you hold the receiver, or did you hold the barrel?Blackstuff wrote:The thread on the non-standard nut on my LRA9 was the same as the standard nut, i just had to get the SGC one off first - mine wasn't loctited (such a word??) on, or if it was braying the nut off with a big hammer with a punch in one of the holes sorted it out![]()
I did do a bit of damage to it but i'm never going to use it again so i wasn't bothered

Any of those may well do the job, but I doubt I'd ever need to use it again after this, so not much point buying one especially. I'm going to opt for the same method Blackstuff went for with a hammer and punch.Meaty wrote:Is this the type of thing you are after?

Or another version.

And another.

If you want to minimise the damage to the pin holes on the nut you can use a brass/alloy drift (punch) instead of a steel one.
Re: Southern Gun Co - Barrel Nut
For sale, one SGC barrel nut. Slightly used condition. 25 quid inc. P&P

Took a fair bit of effort, but with the help of a mate it came off eventually. We used the AR tool with one pin in and the other two pins resting against the outside of the barrel nut.
Very pleased with the Samson Evo handguard too. As always, thanks for the help everyone.

I didn't bother because it kinda looks like every other Samson Evo rail, but as you asked so nicely...Individual wrote:So dont keep us in suspenders - post the pictures of the new handguardjudders wrote:
