.223 for McQueens
Being a fumble fingered person, I find shooting McQueens with a non-magazine rifle somewhat tricky, and I'm contemplating putting together a .223 for that and use at 300 yds as well. I have a T3 Lite, which is a nice gun, and was thinking of adding a conversion to take the AI 10-round magazine, and perhaps a Joe West stock as the existing one is too short for my gorilla like arms.
But the T3 is a thin, and fairly short barrel (20"), so would the varmint profile be more suited to McQueens?
Or is there another way of doing this that makes more sense?

Careful now/that sort of thing

Why buy a LITE rifle and then do everthing possible to convert it to a high capacity tactical rifle? Wouldn't you be better to keep the lite as it is which is well suited to sporting use and buy or build a target/tactical rifle.
It doesn't seem logical to me but that just my opinion, it may seem logical but a little costly to you.

It may be easier and cheaper to buy a T3 1in8 twist varmint mate.

What action can be used for .223 with a magazine - Barnard SM?

Howa 1500 conversion and mags seem pretty cheap.

couple of places seem to do conversion kits

I have shot McQueen several times with a .223 Bradley Arms. My best effort was a 4th place with 4X and 6x5shugie wrote:Being a fumble fingered person, I find shooting McQueens with a non-magazine rifle somewhat tricky, and I'm contemplating putting together a .223 for that and use at 300 yds as well. So, the calibre is fine for that comp !

I shoot the McQueen every month at Diggle and NEVER use my magazine. Wish I had a quid for every mag. feed jam I've witnessed over the last 20 years!shugie wrote:Being a fumble fingered person, I find shooting McQueens with a non-magazine rifle somewhat tricky, and I'm contemplating putting together a .223 for that and use at 300 yds as well. My McQueen rifle only has a 5 round magazine so I use it and hand feed the last 5 rounds, you have a loads of time between shots so single feeding is easy enough. Think of it as shooting sporting clays, they look fast yet you have loads of time.
