It is a barrel stabiliser, the 14s have a very light whippy barrel which can give accuracy problems (4" or worse at 100yds!).

Is this the one Historic Guns & Militaria were selling on Gun Watch etc for £400?

I don't know anyone who as been able to get one of these to shoot to an acceptable and consistent level of accuracy. Maybe if you persevere you'll get lucky, but remember they sell at a cheap price for a reason.

Good luck.

SimG thinks the sun shines out of a Mini 14s butt.

I seem to recall that he got his to shoot to his satisfaction and did a post or two about it on here, could be worth a search if you are interested.

Yea mate thats the one, was intrested for a while but wondered how I would be able to source a stabiliser and when I clocked that one on there website , I thought theres one problem solved, have seen them for 495 new and upwards of 600+ also saw a tactical 14 for a grand....

Yes dromia, ive already sourced the posts regarding his stock and reborn tactical 14, very informative...
I have seen one tatical stock being sold at sgc, but thats on hold for the minute.... as always funds permitting.

These guys used to have no end of trouble with accuracy. As far as I remember, they couldn't hit a pigs a**e with a banjo with them. Nice shorts though.

However yours shoots, enjoy it, that's what shooting is all about.
