Rifle Identification
The SASR allows it's troopers to modify their rifles, pretty much however they like, but can anyone id the rifle that Corporal Benjamin Roberts-Smith VC MG is carrying? I'm guessing 7.62 and the mag looks similar to one for a SLR, but than that, I haven't a clue.

Also got on a very expensive pair of Crye Precision Multicam Pants. They are almost US$200 a piar!

Re: Rifle Identification
Just a hunch but it looks like a modernised M14!

CK,
You're a bad man, that's why I said
The multicams are on issue to members of the SOTG.
20 series - You might be on to something there.

Re: Rifle Identification
Cheers thanks for that. I thought it might have been one of the SASR's cut jobs, but looks it was just a Regiment special purchase, as they are not in the Australian Army's inventory.20series wrote:I was right a M14 EBR

Re: Rifle Identification
I looks like a serious bit of kit, I guess they probably have it on trial or it's "borrowed" from the yanks

Re: Rifle Identification
Quite possible, I know during the Vietnam War a lot their kit was acquired for trial purposes only and used to equip the Regiment! :lol:20series wrote:I looks like a serious bit of kit, I guess they probably have it on trial or it's "borrowed" from the yanks![]()

Alan - 19 minutes to id that rifle, pretty impressive.
