ENS and I both did one of Bill's Wind courses at the same time and it was very good and well worth the time plus given the range time we had it was an absolute bargain and we got to walk down across Stickledown which is an eye opener. The Viking was there as well however all she did was shoot V's and moan at Bill when she shot a high 5 so probably best not to choose a course with her.

No, many wind curses when sailing, but no course as such. I didn't even know such things existed.

One should never whistle whilst sailing, does the same apply to shooting I wonder?

Like one should never whistle at the northern lights, the evil spirits will come and get you if you do.

Somehow I do not think it applies to the wind and shooting :lol:

Can't do that weekend, how often do these courses run? And what is the cost?

Agree it will be worth doing, but I think I need to get my kit sorted out to the point where wind becomes a major issue. I reckon I'm some way from there now, judging by what other people were achieving today, I think the next move is to change rifle to something with a longer barrel.

I really do not agree Shugie, master the wind and you can shoot very well with most gear. Ovenpaa shoots with a 24 inch barrel to a 1000 yards.

Was good fun shooting FRI pm - besides the 900 / 1000 yards delay by some confused blokes. sign01
As if 2 hous in traffic jam wasn't enough
Shugie did well with the RWS and his shorter barrel + Mod.

Mil-dot sights are handy if you know that its +_3.45 moa vs dots - handy when ranges get long
Once we got Shugie on paper he did more than well in very tough twitchy wind conditions
Had 9 to 15 mph swithcing from 11.30 to about 9-30 to 10 - though dominnant conditions were 10:-11
Moving fast!

I played with some loads - checking of the lands with rounds that were 30' longer and still not touching lands - my jump must have been in the 60' thou area OR my lands are receding faster than my hairline.
