My brother in law has a 223 Howa 1500 which has a heavy trigger can you adjust the trigger or are there after market trigger units that would fit this gun?

http://www.snipercentral.com/forums/vie ... =4&t=33403 This link deals fairly well with possible adjustments to the factory trigger. (I only scan read it so apologies if its a load of carp!)
Looks like Timney and Rifle Basixs do drop in triggers as well.

there are tutorials on youtube re adjusting the trigger, should you feel competent. I adjusted mine to around 3Lbs I am sure there are people who have set it lower, I don't need that and am happy with it as it is now

Sam,

We are actually prototyping a C.G 2Stage trigger for the Howa 1500 that CENTRA will incorporate in the range they intend to produce shortly for Europe. If you can show some patience, I will inform.

All new Howas now come with a 2 stage trigger fitted as standard, let off is adjustable between 2.5 and 3.8lbs.

Howa call it the HACT, Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger system, my 1500 has a very nice clean crisp trigger on it.

Clean and crisp maybe but it will not be a CG 2 stage, if you have not tried one then see if you can find a rifle with the CG fitted to have a try.

Wasn't knocking CG, if there's anyone in the North East with one for me to have a play with I'd certainly be interested in trying one.

Most honoured with your appreciation.

Quasi impossinility to import from USA, also the US maker concentrating on his indigenous models of great diffusion have led to collaborate with CENTRA Visiertechnik to undertake making, not only the specific european models, but also the Rem. and some exotic models from southern hemisphere.

Centra has already experience with the C.G Uni trigger, as they manufactured most of the parts for the former model

Novelty will be for some match single shot actions the possibility to convert the 2stage in BR-style single stage by the simple change of one constituent.

On prototyping the single stage addition, we are in the 100 grammes pulls range for single stage.

Incidentally, we are down in the 500-600 grammes range in 2-stage for most actions models...There is 2 pulls ranges by simple exchange of one spring (the second spring is integrated in the mechanism.

Any idea on a time scale when these triggers will be redily available? I'll be after a T3 trigger
