.22 Fest

#1 Post by jjvc »

Droomie and myself share the same birthday and every year we try to hold a birthday shoot. This year we decided on a .22 fest at our local club.
We arrived at 10.30am, got set up and set to with a good stock of ammo. Midday brought a short break and after a Bombay Bad Boy and birthday cake lunch it was back on the range until 3pm by which time we had blootered off about 500 rounds.
As it turned out we had the range to ourselves and had a nice relaxing day, methinks we shall be doing this Saturday thing again soon.

Looks like a proper birthday day out! What is the 'scope on the BSA, it looks like a ZF4.

No idea on the scope so any knowledge welcome.

Its very good though, clear glass and a proper reticle.

The story is that it was second world war German surplus that was for sale post WW2 and it was fitted to this then brand new Sportsman 5 by its proud owner.

It looks very much like a ZF4 Dromia, this is an image of one that *might* be original.

That is almost the same scope except for the markings. Interesting in that elevation is adjusted by the side ring and windage by the top one.

From your photo the markings on mine would be obscured by the scope mount anyway.

Yup!

Early gucci sniper gear for the Kar98. Original ones are very very rare and sought after.
