Worth remembering next time it is mentioned that shooters should pay more for their certificates.

All this WOKE stuff is expensive - and useless!

What a waste of money.

Add in cost of pension, employers NI, other benefits ... and £75k becomes £100k. There will be a PA/Secretary and maybe another assistant, so another £100k.

Then office space and facilities &c for him/her/it and staff, £50k ...

So, only £250,000


Will his "fairness" include treating the shooting community fairly and ensure they fell they belong in society?

Fairness should be treating all the same, so when I want a service from the police, I should pay the same as anyone else - certificate charges reduced to nil.

I dare say given the way the world is going, this needs to be a national attitude taken by the shooting fraternity. We should be screaming about discrimination and condemnation of our sport at the highest level just like a lot of the "woke" community.

Those minority groups that make the most noise are often the ones getting heard, even where their message might not be the popular opinion.

Only joking - of course it won't - it only applies to certain people who are already well catered for, pandered to at every turn and have no need for any aptitude or ability when applying for and getting the job!!
