Are any of the viht and Swiss powders the same?

No.

RS50 and N140 have the same applications and very similar charges / performance, but aren't the same thing. All Viht grades are manufactured in-house in Finland in one plant.

Thanks Laurie.
I had this niggle in the back of my mind that in the early days one of the swiss powders was N140 repackaged.

The first Nitrochemie powders that appeared in the UK prior to the establishment of the Reload Swiss brand were 'Elcho 17' and 'TR140'.
'Elcho' being a nod to the Elcho 'Match Rifle' match, which was the primary target market, and '17' because it actually was the same powder as Reloder 17 (just as RS60 is today - Alliant buy the powder from Nitrochemie and brand it Reloder 17in the USA and their export markets). TR140 was sold as a *similar* powder to N140, as commonly used by NRA 'Target Rifle' shooters, hence the name, but it was never the same. Today TR140 is known as RS50 (the Reload Swiss brand name) or WLP220 (the Nitrochemie factory name which you'll see on some bulk packaging).
