Picking brains...

If you were to shoot LSR - free standing - which .22 semi-auto would you get?

An old Remington Speedmaster. Cost a song and shoot anything (if you keep 'em clean).
I saw one go for a fiver at a Scotarms auction. I paid a score for mine. It'll shoot any ammo and it shoots straight.

dodgyrog, do you have a weight for the speedmaster?

I think what feels comfortable and fits is the main thing. Weight, length of pull, head position are important also good trigger and reliability. Actual accuracy depends a bit on what level you're shooting at. I believe if you're shooting around to 85-92 mark then having the most accurate rifle in the world won't gain you any extra points. If you're shooting 96-98's regularly then rifle/ammunition accuracy really starts to matter.

Is 4.5kg the weight limit for LSR?

Yup.

I use an Edge for Bell Target and frankly if I could find a .22 S/A in that weight class then I would be chuffed.

I think with scope something along the line of 2.5-3 kilos.

The speedmaster (having looked into it) does not really work for LSR.

1066, just that I need to narrow it down as I do not want to buy multiple guns.

We have a 10/22 here however it frankly leaves me cold.

Just wondering if there was something out there that would be interesting enough to look into.
