Picking brains...
MTC optics, only for air guns?
Quality?

No much better than people give credit. In my previous club the club rifles exclusively used MTC Viper and easily stood up to heavy and clumsy use by probationers.
At least one member of the club used an MTC Viper on his .50bmg Fortmeier with no ill effect to the scope.
The glass is ok all things considered but not as good as a Sightron.

Watching this with interest. I have an MTC Viper 10x44 on an air rifle and had wondered how it might stand up to going on a rifle as I've been very impressed with the clarity.

Those airguns boys do shoot some very small targets and it appears that they serve them well. Some airguns can also generate considerable vibrations from springers that will rattle inferior scopes to pieces.
That said, as has been pointed out, Sightron in the same class as very, very good. My AR wears one.

I had an MTC optic (Viper I think, def 4-16x) on my .17HMR and it did a cracking job. No 'milking' out at top magnification or blurry edging like other 'budget' optics. Came with mounts too IIRC.

The one caveat I will put forward and it is not exactly a negative as this is normal in the optics industry but it is important to note MTC don't make their own scopes they sell Asian made scopes with their brand added. Most MTC scopes are made by Optisan in their Chinese factory whilst the more premium 'Genesis' line are made in South Korea (I am not sure by whom).
A company like MTC will go to the manufacturer who will make scopes for multiple brands and pick what features they would like to be added. This is common even for various premium brands.

That's a good thing, the Optisan Optimate scopes are brilliant, I think Edgar Bros used to import them, I still have a "super sniper" on my 308

I have a few vipers knocking about.. I've used them on various calibres upto & ing .308 , even shot it out to 800 yards ..
I do own way better scopes , but for a low cost budget scope that will last , they are pretty bomb proof
FYI... An awful lot of NV shooters like them as the glass works well with add on units

When I first got my .308 Mauser M12 I put an older 4-16x44 Mamba Lite on it and it was rock solid for over 500 rounds. Shot my first Red stag with that combination and 12" square steel plates out to 600 yards. I've got three of them and used them on springer air rifles, .22RF and .223 great little scopes.
