We also cannot receive any for service or repair. This however is all they are getting - 5 actions and that's it!!!
NEW!!!! Just been informed by the police that if Steyr UK receive any 5 shot pistols for service or repair we must notify the police immediately!!! "

I was reading this on the Airgun BBS... apparently North Yorks have deemed the LP50 multi shot airpistols are Section 5 firearms...?!?

Just done a quick Google - this has been talked about since the middle of last year.

On what grounds have they deemed the LP50 to be S5, it cannot be because of ME so is it because it is self loading?

It's because it's semi automatic and not chambered in .22 rimfire.

Do the North Yorkshire police think that the LP50 is the only semi-auto rifled airpistol out there then?

No, but I imagine the purpose is to instigate a court action in order that a court can decide the "categorisation" of semi automatic airguns below the 6/12ft lbs limit.

This has been bubbling for a couple of years now.

You mean like tackling crime and stuff?
But that's hard and requires effort. It's so much easier to deal with compliant law-abiding citizens than nasty unpleasant criminals - who regularly tell lies and are often unhelpful.
