I know a lot of people get all het up over this but some simple questions looking at the legal principles more than opinions on what you think / like.............

Assumptions

There is no exchange of funds so no sale of ammo.
All are members of the same club (NRA affiliated so we can ignore the NSRA B$ on hand loading).
Each have the same cal for arguments sake 308win, on their FAC with sufficient allocation 900 rnds each.
All cases are FLR, cleaned & loaded to a published load same as a CIP for load & COAL.
They bring the materials needed from reliable RFD sources:

So:

Q1. HL made by somebody you know, trust & is a member of the club - is it illegal to shoot their rounds in your gun if given them?

Q2. Dad reloads for son - Is it illegal for son to use dads HL ammo?

Q3. Disabled member can bench shoot ok but not operate HL equipment, so somebody does it for them, they watch/supervise (& buy the beers after) & pay for the materials - is it illegal for the disabled member to shoot those rounds?

Q4.Two-Three mates (in the same club) have a 'reloading party' (go pub after not during) prep their ~500RWS cases each, share 3.5 kg of N140 & 1500 off 2215 heads & set to work; they each prep cases, each prime them, each fill them, check as they go, each head them to the same std CIP equivalent spec - is it illegal for them to shoot the ammo made - selected at random from the pile produced?

I don't know but I'm interested to find out. I'm mentoring a probationary shooter at present he shoots club guns. He is supervised at all times on the range by me.
I am teaching him how to reload for .308. .303. 6.5x55. He owns all the equipment needed to reload all the calibres he shoots.
When we reload I supply all the powders bullets primers cases etc. He reloads the ammo Supervised by me. I have authority to hold all the ammo we make so it goes with me. I take it to the range and he shoots it. Does this sound reasonable.

I thought there was only an issue if you were selling homeloads to someone. and even then, it still seems to be in the grey.

Its not illegal to shoot someone else's home loads but unless you are registered you cant manufacture ammo to sell on, all sorts of insurance considerations.

Nope, just questions I have been asked in whole or in part or a number of times & scenarios where many people made assumptions. I found no real info guidance or advice on them here or other places, other than the 'Not allowed' assumptions by many.

Sale of reloaded ammunition would require it to be CIP approved so samples sent to Birmingham for testing plus some insurance should be in place. The reloading for friends on an informal basis I am not sure about however I am aware of some clubs stipulating that ammunition loaded by someone else should not be used. My personal view is if three mates sat down and spread the loading task between them there is no issue as the rounds are effectively being checked by three persons. Here, I do the metallic loading and the Viking throws the powder and we jointly visually check the level of powder in cases prior to me seating the bullets.

As an RFD I often receive loaded ammunition with rifles, if it is factory it can be sold with or separate to the rifle. If it is hand loaded it goes in a safe and is pulled when I find the time.

An interesting question, a definitive answer would be good.

This has always been my understanding

what is the difference between me shooting my own loaded (to published data) ammunition, and me handing it to another person and them shooting it?

the only possible issue I could see would be with insurance, as if I pull the trigger, issue, and someone beside me gets hurt, there would be some investigation and I may be prosecuted for my loads (maybe)
if I give someone else some ammo, they pull the trigger, issue and someone beside them gets hurt, investigation, ammo at fault, who loaded it, then I would still be held to account surely? but, would it then be covered at the clubs insurance as I may not be a member etc. Although, I suppose that could be covered under 'use of ammo is at users risk' type sentence, which means that the guy using my ammo takes responsibility for it?

If you give your hand loads to someone else to shoot wouldn't you have to enter it onto their ticket?

Not if done st a club, for immediate use & not removed from the premises.
