I'm trying to make seating dies for my cast boolits. The moulds I have are either old Lee moulds. Lyman or RCBS moulds or more recently NOE moulds.
The Lee moulds I don't have top punches for and tend to use push through sizing dies for them.
The Lyman and RCBs you can buy top punches for. The NOE moulds come with a single top punch for use in my Lyman lubsizer.
Converting a top punch into a seating die is a doddle. The problem is getting hold of top punches for the Lee and NOE moulds to convert to seating dies. NOE only supply one top punch with a mould I have tried to order extra but they keep trying to charge me for a extra mould as well.
My question is.
Cast boolits shapes in particular the pointy end are there standard nose shapes. If so how do you identify them so I can order top punches for them. I'm probably going to have to buy Lyman ones and modify them. Any help appreciated.

Sorry but I don't understand the relevance of your question. I use lots of different reference books and my own data collected over 35 odd years of shooting.
I am currently using NOE moulds but I only have one top punch for each mould to use in my lubesizer. I tried to order extra but they wanted to charge me for a extra mould for each top punch. I want to source extra top punches so I can machine them for bullet seaters.

Easy enough to make them to fit with tin foil (temporary) or epoxy (permanent), I have blank calibre specific top punches for that purpose, they are very popular.

The top punches are a doddle to make and modifying them to use as a seating die in a Lee die or the LeWilson jobbies is a simple job. Its the boolit nose shape that is the challenge. I just thought there might be standard nose shapes for the different type of boolit.
Like a loverin for example. Actually a guy posted a answer to my question on the NOE forum so there might be a way you can order the punches on there own from NOE Ill have to give it a try. (No I don't know what NOE means but Adam does he posted it before some were before you ask.)
Calibers Im looking at are.
7.62x39 this one is all ready sorted I have settled on a NOE mould for this calibre. I used the top punch that came with the mould.
7.62x54 I really like reloading for this cartridge.
.308. I have several moulds for .308 but no top punches.
.303. I only have one mould that works in this rifle its a Lyman so I can probably buy the top punch for this one.
.222. I want to shoot cast in this calibre I have never done this before.
So much to do so little time. Range time is also a issue to test stuff the earliest access to a full bore range this year over 50 yards is March.
In fact I'm beginning to wonder why I do this I spend hours in my shed modifying dies making dies chopping guns about casting re loading and what have you for them to just sit there waiting for some were to shoot them. May be its time I got another hobby.
