I'm guessing that Blighty means more detail - there are an awful lot of Mauser variants out there, you need to be more specific than just "7.62mm Mauser", Mauser have made many models and variants since the Commission Rifle of 1888.

Hi all bit more about my rifle, started off as a FN manufactured columbian model 50 in 30.06 ,
As you probably know a lot of them had a hard time rusty barrels and pitting below the wood line .
I suspect mine was one of the latter in 1961 I believe it was re barrelled with a IDF barrel and to Finnish the
Job given IDF woodwork with 7.62 burnt I to the bottom of the Woodstock ,,olso the bolt was turned down.
The wood was swapped as Columbian stock not compatable with the IDF barrel.to look at its just like a IDF or K98
Only the light wood gives it away,.,. Nice to look at good to shoot ,,,suits me.
Cheers Gary
