Remington 700 action
MAE supplied the barrel with moderator.
The trigger is fantastic, the rifle was put together by Mark Bradley who did all the machining, bedded the action into the stock and painted with Duracoat. I believe Steve Bowers gave him advice, having built the only other .338 Whisper in the UK
Today I tried with 220g lee lead bullets over 6g of Vhit 340, just to get the scope mounted.
It sounds like an air rifle.

We have been thinking of doing something similar with a P14 action but can't decide what calibre to go for: .45ACP like the de Lisle carbine is a favourite...

Is it the 308 action based version or the 223 action version?

It is based on the long/.308 action.
The brass is made from 6 or 7mm BR neck expanded to take the .338 bullet

That was my plan initially but it was going to be two expensive.
This was not cheap but was done on a budget and I have the flexibility to go super sonic aswell
