Changing barrels

I've had a fruitful afternoon changing the barrel on my Tikka T3 lite from .243 to 7mm-08.
The hardest part waqs freeing up the old barrel from the receiver as the taper started almost immediately after the Knox form preventing us from getting a good tight grip on it in the barrel clamp. Finally shifted it using brute force ie a lump hammer giving the shock needed to overcome the 'stiction' of the threads.
The new barrel went on but was taking the no-go gauge and we had to shave a couple of 'thou' off of the shoulder.
Jobs a good'un now and the new barrel is also a genuine Tikka take off from Ameriaca (Ebay)

How did you get a barrel from eBay USA, did you have to go through the ITAR bs?

7mm08 is a cartridge that deserves far greater attention than it does in the UK. I've been shooting one for six years or so and love it.
