I have a Third Eye Tactical scope picatinny rail but I need some screws to hold the rail to the rifle. They didn't have any in stock, anybody know where I can get some asap? Apparently they are 6 / 48 torx heads? The ones at the back are longer than the two at the front due to the 10MOA rail.
Anybody?

Be prepared to do some filing... The front two need a fair bit taking off to allow the bolt to close properly.

Right then, measuring the gun this morning. There are four holes in the top of the receiver. They are approximately (from back to front) 5mm, 5mm, 5mm & the front one being 3.7mm deep. More or less.
The first three go all the way through to the bolt guides on the inside of the receiver so if the bolts are too long they will obstruct the bolt. The fourth hole bottoms out at 3.7mm deep as the bottom is being obstructed by the barrel.
The 10MOA Third Eye rail obviously has a slope to it and if I seat some 9mm threaded bolts through it in all four holes (9mm being the bolts thread length, 11.5mm with the torx cap as well) and measure whats sticking out at the bottom of the rail then I measure (from the back to the front of the rail) 4.25mm, 4.47mm, 6.54mm and 6.7mm - This is whats left sticking out of a 9mm thread.
Now if the first two are less then 5mm (which they are) then they should fit, but they don't. Its almost as if the last couple of threads are missing to stop people running bolts in too far?
Obviously the front two (bolts 3 & 4) are way too long especially the fourth one! So if I take the 9mm subtract whats left sticking out of the picatinny rail and then add what the ideal would be to keep the bolts from bottoming out or hitting the area of non-thread in the hole then the length of thread required should be a maximum length of 8.75mm, 8.53mm, 6.46mm, 5.8mm.
Does this make sense??????? - Christ I have confused myself now! All I wanna do is shoot my gun! sign01
You could probably round these up or down to 8.5mm, 8.5mm 6.5mm and 5.5mm or whatever the imperial version is.
