This needs to be resisted as a matter of principle.
Other than that shooters squeak.

Wow, so, even in this small community of gun owners we cannot agree.. forget us ever being united.
Surely the issue is whether the proposed increase is reasonable?
Given that the current licencing system is not for our benefit, but in the interests of public safety, why should the taxpayer (of which most of us are) not subsidise the system..
Otherwise, why should we not ask for a council tax rebate, since we do not cost police time outside bars on a Friday, something which costs the police far more than policing firearms ever will.
I hope our various bodies fight this for all they are worth.

The NRA actually have made out a pretty good riposte on this issue. For once.

Very similar numbers and proportion to working/retired as my club.
And of those of us still in the working category, 50% are within well within 10 years of retirement. We only have 2 members under 40, and we will be loosing one of them by end of this year due to him moving to another part of the country.

OOPS, it seems that one can inadvertently respond to the Survey multiple times!

I have completed the survey and would urge all other shooters to do the same, it takes seconds and every comment counts.

The NRA responce is somewhat interesting .
They make a fair case for clubs to be left alone .
But , the fact that they make almost no comment on the fee increases for other groups/bodies shows they still have the same head in the sand attitude that they had back in the handgun ban days .

Which of the "other groups/bodies" do you think the NRA should be lobbying for and why?
