Yes but your rifle club membership is ok. Does not have to be a practical / shotgun club.

Your good reason is the desire to shoot target comps with your sec 1 shotgun.

And note that because S1 shotguns are outside the Home Office Approval scheme, club membership is legally irrelevant. That doesn't stop your FEO considering it in the exercise of his discretion, but it is of itself neither necessary nor sufficient to demonstrate good reason for a multi-shot smoothbore gun under S1 Firearms Act.

Thanks. Does 'target' include PSG I assume? I want to have clays and vermin too, of course! There's not much room...

Last time I asked in Lancs a few years ago it was club use, I.e psg club or full time game keeper

They're quite happy if you join Rossendale as a PSG member, £60 a year.
