In 10 years time i'd like all straight pull rifles to be obsolete and trigger release to have replaced them

In 10 years time I'd like all straight pull rifles to be obsolete and recoil or gas SLR to have replaced them , but, somehow, I think your wish will become true before mine ;)

For the moment, your Vz looks like one of the only UK legal double-tap toy around...
Enjoy ! Looks Uber-fun :good:

Guilty as charged M'lud  But hey mine was a build and it still worked out a hell of a lot cheaper than £1950 ($3,122)

Thats over a grand more than the standard straight pull they do, I know which one I would have + have loads of cash for cheap ammo.

I doubt that will happen unless they become seriously more accurate than the currently available straight pulls. We'll have to wait and see; when these start winning matches they'll sell like hot cakes but until then I don't expect to see that many.

CZ discontinued the civvy VZ58 back in 2010, over here these days the ones with the side folding stock can be had brand new in 7.62x39 for between 400 - 500 bucks.

Thats what I was thinking..........what would they charge for a true semi-auto if the law was changed?, £3-4000???.As i said earlier a semi-auto Vz in the Czech Republic can be bought by a dealer for €75 so we are well and truly cornholed over here!.I paid around £1900 for each of my Dragunovs (In Russia a semi-auto one will set you back around £850-900) and even in straight pull are more rifle than a Vz will ever be, over a grand is a lot of coin for a trigger release mechanism and a gas piston!!!!!

Have you shot many of the currently available straight pulls?, my Dragunovs can be seriously accurate with decent ammunition. Both of them will easily cloverleaf 3 rounds of 174gr Sellier&Bellot and will consistently shoot 1.5" groups with Soviet era milsurp ammo......how much more accurate does a rifle of this type need to be?.
My AKs' are also surprisingly accurate and will put every round into a 6" circle at 100m with ironsights and milsurp.Straight pulls are often more accurate than their semi or full auto counterparts due to the lack of moving bolt carriers etc.Infact it was not unknown for VDV and Spetsnaz snipers in the Soviet-Afghan conflict to disable the gas system on their Dragunovs to increase the accuracy.
