2500 ish rounds is not excessive as long as they have not been stoked up to the raggedy edge and as long as it has a 26" or more barrel it will be a 1000 yard rifle, 30" would be nicer but I shoot 1000 with a rifle with may thousands of rounds through it's 24" barrel.
Dave, forgetting the magazine was a little embarrasing I have to admit. I thought my "Dad's Army" bang sound effects more than redeemed me though!

I mostly shot 155 gr Silver Scenars over 44.9 gr of n140 through the Armalon, which was a comfortable load. From memory the rifle had a 26 inch barrel.

I left my ammo at home last time I had the Lee Enfield out. Drove home and picked it up without anybody noticing!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I thought it was brilliant in fact

Just sub 45 grains of N140 with moly coated 155's - good load.

Armalon do 10 and 5 round M14 mags for 55 quid. It's expensive compared to the US price, but then I guess it's more convenient.

Their price list is here: http://www.armalon.com/public/products/item/1/

Thank you Judders

I'll keep that in mind. Still waiting for my FAC to come through the door. So frustrating that I can't do a thing!
