The Horus looks busy at first but as it is all cross hairs then once you look through the required cross then all else disappears.
I've been using friends out the hill for the past year and I'm seriously impressed, prior to that I was am died in the wool post and hair man but shunning mildots and such confusion. If I was getting a new scope then it would be a Schmidt and Bender with Horus reticle, it is so easy to use. Aim off for dummies.

I also find the Horus rather busy. If I was to look for a new 'scope for S Class it would be a mil/mil FFP so instead of MOA it would be graduated in 1/10 Mils which is about .344MOA per click and the reticle would be graduated to suit so I knew how much to correct my shot by. As an example:

You need to use the Horus on practical targets to appreciate how effective it is and how invisible the markings are in use.

I'm waiting for Desert Tactical Arms and Kahles to release their new reticule before buying a 624i. Based on the people involved it should be rather good.

Horus reticles are a joke. I have never seen such a bad product being marketed and packaged so well. Kudos to their marketing team but for practical purposes they are well below average IMHO.

Any ideas.
How do you shoot? Do you shoot prone or on a bench or do you challenge your skills by firing unsupported?

Depends on what I am shooting and were. I don't know any thing about scopes just trying to improve my knowledge.
Next year I would like to have a go at S class if it gets off the ground.
I will be using a Steyr SSG P1 in .308 off a bipod with a back bag prone. The scope that is on it is a Kahles 6-42x48 I don't know if the scope would be usable in S class.
The bulk of my shooting is done from a fox hole with the front of the rifle either on a rest or a leather shooting bag the kind you stuff with sand. Using iron sights.
Last time I was at the range I was shooting a borrowed black gun in .22 with a scope on it standing un supported shooting falling plate type targets.
I have a scout rifle in 7.62x39 that I would like to scope up but I have no idea what to put on it. I shoot it any were from 25yds out to 300yds of a bipod.
This year I would like to acquire a Tikka T3 or similar in 6.5x55 and stick a decent optic on the top. I am toying with the idea of selling of some of my military rifles but its a hard decision deciding which ones to let go.
I don't shoot competitively I never have I shoot because I enjoy it and the biggest reason of all I get to go home with lots of empty cases I love re loading. I don't keep count of scores or group sizes I just turn up shoot have a gossip eat the food then go back home to the real world clutching my empty cases.

SpectreDR ?
They are special order at £1,800.
I think I need to know a little bit more than I do at the moment about optics before shelling out £1,800. But I will keep it in mind.
