But what is a Rifle??

According to the Oxford English dictionary:
Definition of rifle
noun
a gun, especially one fired from shoulder level, having a long spirally grooved barrel intended to make a bullet spin and thereby have greater accuracy over a long distance:

Err sounds like my long barrelled pistol doesn't it?
Mine is fired from my Shoulder Level and has a long spiral grooved barrel!

That description fits our Competitor too ! A 23.5 inch barrel but no stock. Warwickshire Police were split as to whether it was better to class it as a rifle or a Long Barrel Pistol. Eventually they settled on LBP.

Gentlemen

You have debated this sensibly. I hope you all understand from your discussions that this is an UNDECIDED AREA OF LAW. I have a view; at least one jury took a contrary view. Their decision is not binding. If you choose to ignore my view, be aware that you may have to argue your point in front of a jury.
