Ooh, I do like the Blaser R93, I have done a fair amount of work for the R93. The older ones only have the serials on the barrels, on the later the actions are number as well.

A bull-pup bolt-action?
You know back around the time of the Great war.
Several different countries had the Idea of a bull pup rifle being easier to move through trenches with.
They each made up prototypes.
Every one fired the first round fine.
When they went to pop off a few rapid, they came to their senses.
WTF! Impossible to work action with out nearly setting the rifle down to cycle the action.

There are a lot of reasons why a Savage would be a good choice:
Well recognised "Out of the box" accuracy.
Very good, adjustable factory trigger (AccuTrigger)
Ability to change/replace barrels/calibres with a spanner, no expensive smithing costs.
Aftermarket triggers, stocks, barrels readily available.
Fast lock time, floating bolt head etc.

I have a couple and I'm very pleased with them.
Stick a Sightron scope for £6-800 on and you are good from 100 - 1200 yds.

I've got a book somewhere that shows a bull-pup .303 that was in development during the Boer War. I guess the idea's been knocking around for a while.
But I agree, bull-pup bolters do look like awkward SoBs to cycle, esp. in the mud with Jerry baring down on you.
... I wonder if there was ever a bull-pup flintlock? Mmm... ideas.

I could make you one, but it would set your wig on fire.
