The FCSA take was that the NRA would pick up on LR... and I have heard a number of versions over the endeavors of the latter (or not), missed opportunities and so forth.

The fact remains that there were often more LR and MARS on the 50 cal line out than there were 50 cals...

Someone needs to prod the likes of AirgunBBS - perhaps by stirring up a hornets nest we can all be persuaded to fight together with one common purpose.
To be honest my comment was a bit of a dig at the shooting community in general. There is virtually no unity and yes, I am sure a few members of the impacted disciplines lobbied for the others however, for the most it is a case of 'It is not my problem'

The FCSA issue is now going to be the next wave of legislation and the one after that. Someone somewhere really does not like the idea of 50s and similar being in the hands of civilians.

I am not sure how far the NRA were involved so I cannot comment.

You do realise that if this took off as a movement, with bright yellows, orange etc. appearing everywhere, the PC brigade will accuse us of trying to disguise our toys as proper toys?
A 50 BMG in fluorescent green sparkle would be nice, though...........

pink Guns have been around for a long time. Apart from coatings, manufacturers also produce various colour schemes which includes bright or pastel hues.

They have, but he many of them have been handed in as part of an evil and dangerous assault rifle ban? Everything surrendered will get paraded for the media. I

I've personally got nothing against brightly coloured firearms. If I had the disposable income, all my non-wooden stocked firearms would be cerakoted in incredibly bright colours.

By all means if you want to make a statement when surrendering your firearms, paint them pink. But be under no illusion that it will stop the media spreading fallacies and trying to stir the pot with anti-gun propaganda.

Of the articles relating to firearms I've ever seen, I don't ever recall seeing a photograph of a firearm used in the media that was what it was claimed to be, or represented the firearm relating to the article.

I expect we'll see photos of 15/22's, kriss and other still legal firearms, if not photos of real steel AR's in proper calibres from our brethren across the pond (which haven't been legal here for nigh on 3 decades), when the time comes for the rags to post about this latest gungrab from the law abiding gun owners.

I'd love to do that to mine, but just watch your lengths.
You don't need a blow torch you just need a set of pipe benders. If you have any mates who are pipefitters they can do it for you in ten minutes you don't even have to heat them up. ;) ;)
you won't get me to muck up a perfectly good set of pipe benders on a steel barrel! use a fork in a tree like we did in the old days :p
or find someone with a hydraulic bender (good luck with that I haven't seen one in decades )

have you seen someone on fb saying that they are going to meticulously clean their rifle and oil it before hand in? 100% serious. I don't know how someone with that large a case of Stokholm syndrome is mentally stable enough to own firearms.
