Success...!!!

Strap wrenches arrived today.... moderator has been sat almost full of penetrating oil all week, so wrenches on both ends, a bit of a smack around the thread area with a screwdriver handle, quick heave, and it unscrewed!

lollol

Now to dry it out and lube the threads!!

Did the penetrating oil bugger up the rubber inserts?

Rubber inserts?? if you mean the O rings, no, it doesn't seem to have done.

I don't think the Wildcat Evolution has rubber inserts/baffles...??

Well done!

Copper slip the threads and make sure you clean it regularly. People suggest every 1000 rounds, I would say 50 maximum and that is also time based.

I usually fire about 50 rnds per range trip, and dismantle to dry and then relube after each outing, and will make sure i do in future.!

Luckily i have never had that problem but that's probably because I have never owned a moderator. All though I am under pressure to fit one to my .22 bolt action. wallhead
