Selling a firearm while FAC/SGC is in for renewal

Here in Cheshire we have always sent the original certificates in when requesting a FAC variation / renewal. Original Shogun Certificates go in at renewal time, or in the case of my Father whenever he runs out of space on his certificate for new shotguns.
If he sees something he wants/needs while his SGC is away, the shotgun comes onto my SGC and I then transfer it to his new certificate.

In all cases, we make photocopies of certificates, just in case he wants to sell a gun.
